Direct Communications offers a complete service – Consultancy, Design, Supply, Installation, Maintenance and Repair. Direct Communications can help you realise the optimum communications solution for your special needs.

Radio System Design and RF planning

Planning for radio systems deployment requires a thorough understanding of RF issues such as path loss prediction, coverage mapping, multi-path issues, noise levels, and frequency management. For planned installations, Direct Communications can conduct a pre–installation survey to include some of the following:

» Plan frequency usage by measuring the level of RF activity already present and band plans in use

Workshop Service and Repair

Direct Communications is the appointed Tait service centre for Western Australia. We now provide a fixed labour repair rate for Tait Mobile and Hand Held radios. Scheduled or on-demand service is provided to cover most brands of two-way radio equipment. The Malaga workshop is equipped with modern test equipment and a spare parts holding to facilitate the prompt repair/return of customer equipment.

On–site Maintenance

Where desired, routine on-site maintenance is available from Direct Communications. Expe- rience has shown that periodic onsite maintenance resolves on site problems often attributed to faulty equipment.
We currently provide this service throughout all of Western Australia and into the Northern territory. Our service personnel are experienced in working in remote areas and offer a high calibre of workmanship and support to customers.
Our on-site services can include system inspection, health checks, testing to manufacturer’s specifications, power supply checks, antenna checks, comprehensive service reports and advice on upgrades and improvements.

Site and off-site Installations

Whether in your vehicle or at your site, we can install your new equipment to ensure effective and reliable operation. Our field technicians are trained and equipped for working at heights and within industrial environments including mines, processing plants and underground.

Service Contracts

If required, Direct Communications can customise a service package for the repair of your base equipment and mobiles with guaranteed pricing and repair time. The Company, being based in Western Australia, have a good understanding of the local conditions and hardships faced by organisations requiring reliable supply and service of equipment in remote areas of Western Australia and indeed, throughout the rest of Australia.

Consultancy Service

A consultancy service is offered at reasonable hourly rates for the design of new systems or to investigate/overcome problems in established radio networks. A special visit to your mine site can be arranged on request. Design & Engineering personnel support this valued consultancy service on a contract basis. Direct Communications also has the Engineering force of Tait Electronics at its disposal for the larger systems.
